After many sleepless months, I took the initiative and rang the first person who popped up on my Google search on “sleep consultants Sydney” with the highest reviews. Thank god I did!
My almost 2-year-old was always a great sleeper until about 6 months ago when she no longer was. She would wake every night at midnight, then again at 3 or 5. At first, it was fine—bottles, cuddles, etc. But over time, she grew and realised she could push her limits a little more each night. We got to the point where she would only sleep in our arms whilst being rocked on the chair.
With an upcoming overseas holiday, we figured it was pointless to make any drastic changes to these habits, so we just suffered in silence.
Upon return, we made excuses for her being awake all night between 2 and 7 a.m. because of jetlag so we’d just avoid the frantic crying and just take her into the toy room until the sun came up. 2 weeks in; we’ve only had a couple of wakes where she settles within a few minutes. It’s been such a relief.
