Thanks to Jen [My NewBorn] who is such an incredible overnight sleep consultant, our daughter has gone from taking 45+ minutes to get to sleep and waking every hour, to self settling and sleeping through the night.
My wife and I could not recommend Jen any better.
When we met Jen, our daughter was 6 months old. She needed to be rocked in our arms to sleep for around 45 minutes before we could put her down. She would then often wake around the 1 hour mark, where we would have to repeat the process. It was extremely challenging and we had tried many other techniques and support groups, but none of the results lasted.
As an overnight sleep consultant, Jen spent 3 nights with us, coaching on everything, from pre-bedtime routine, what not to eat, sleeping conditions, and tired signs to look for in our daughter. I was a little embarrassed that upon using Jen’s approach, we managed to get our daughter to self settle within 15 minutes of the first night. From there, she has gone from strength to strength. Having previously woken multiple times, our daughter self settles within 5 minutes, and then sleeps through the night (except for dream feeds).
I specifically have found the last 6 months at work very challenging due to the lack of sleep. I was a little skeptical as to whether Jen could help us, as I thought maybe our daughter would eventually grow out of these habits. However, I now wish that we had brought Jen in much sooner. Jen’s approach was friendly, supportive, and accommodating for all of our questions. Truly the best overnight sleep consultant in Sydney!
